Dear Walker Methodist residents and families,

For the last three months, COVID-19 has brought about significant changes and challenges to the senior living industry. Many people have reached out to me to express their thoughts and feelings about how the coronavirus is impacting them or their family member, and I want to hear from more of you.

Do you have questions that I can help answer? Do you have a suggestion that we can pass along to legislators on your behalf? Want to share what you think are the top priority items that we should be working through?

I invite you to send your questions and suggestions through our online portal at https://care.walkermethodist.org/coronavirus-questions. Your input is invaluable to our team as we work to keep residents safe and as we petition governing agencies on your behalf to open up more of each community.

Update on Fitness Centers and Salons

Minnesota Department of Health has announced that we will be allowed to reopen Fitness Centers and Salons, with certain restrictions. We are all so happy to be able to allow our residents to enjoy these important amenities again. Because each community must work with their individual contractors and work to meet regulations, it will take a little time to get these up and running again. But you can expect to see communication from your community with specifics about re-opening dates, rules, and sign ups.

Status Update

Walker Methodist communities continue to have zero resident cases of COVID-19. We are hopeful and pray that this trend continues and that this may help us to be allowed to open our communities up in more ways. Your community leaders and I will keep you informed as we learn more.

Thank you for the support you’ve shown our team members, and thank you for your understanding and patience as we maneuver through this unprecedented time.

Sincerely,

Scott Riddle,
President and CEO of Walker Methodist
