Frequently Asked Questions

Do you have questions about our race, what registration includes, and more? Please take a look at our answers to frequently asked questions

Where does the race start?
Both races begin on the road next to the Lake Harriet Bandshell parking lot. Look for the banners. The announcer will begin asking runners and walkers to line up approximately 10 minutes prior to race start. The 10k starts at 9 a.m. and the 5k starts at 9:05 a.m.

Can I use a jogging stroller?
Yes. We ask people with strollers to start in the back for both races to avoid any mishaps.

Are there water stations?
Yes. There are two water stations: one at Minnehaha/Lake Harriet parkways and one at the finish line. For runners and walkers of both races, this means there will be a water stop approximately every 1.5 miles. Bottled water is available after the race as well.

When and where is race packet pickup?
Pre-race packet pick up and in-store registration will be available (more details to come) or on race day onsite at Lake Harriet June 5, 2021. You will be able to pick up your race number and receive your t-shirt at this time.

When is the last date to register?
Online registration is available up until race day–June 5, 2020. Registration on June 5 begins at 8 a.m. near the Bandshell. (However, we cannot guarantee that your preferred race t-shirt size will be available on race day.)

What is the cost?

$40 for 5k participants and $45 for 10k runners. Cost increases $5 on race day. A limited number of lower priced race registrations will be announced later. Stay tuned or send an email requesting updates to race@walkermethodist.org.

In the event the race is shortened or cancelled, all entry fees are nonrefundable.

Parking

Two pay parking lots are available near the Bandshell at the north end of Lake Harriet. Parking lots will close around 8:30 a.m. to stop automobile traffic on the race course.
