Candace Rovang

Executive Director

Candace joined the Walker Methodist family in 2014. Previous to working at Highview Hills, she worked at another senior living community as a CNA, Assisted Living Coordinator, and Executive Director in Training. Candace has a Bachelor's Degree in Music and is continuing education towards her Health Care Administrators License. She was honored in June 2018 with the Silverstein Community Service Award from Park Nicollet Struthers Parkinson's Center for her inspiring leadership for people living with Parkinson's.

In her most recent role at Walker Methodist, Candace focused on families and quality assurance - most particularly in Care Suites and Memory Care neighborhoods. She solved resident and family concerns as well as coached, mentored, and supported staff. Candace also oversaw the Aromatherapy and Music and Memory programs and was the champion for the Struthers Parkinson's Network.

Candace is passionate about working with the Alzheimer's Association, particularly getting people together to understand the import of education and support.

Candace chose healthcare because she knew she needed to work in a field that was about more than just money. Once she got in to it, she realized that Walker Methodist was the only place that she could leave at the end of the day and name something she did to support others. The ability to give back daily and Walker Methodist's mission are why she is passionate about her work.

Becky Tacheny

Business Office Manager

Becky joined the Walker Methodist team in August 2009. Prior to that, Becky worked at Northwest/Delta Airlines for 31 years in Materials Management. When Delta acquired Northwest Airlines, Becky's position was moved out of state.

That was when she came across the opening for the Business Office Manager at Walker Methodist Highview Hills and decided a new challenge was in order. Being part of opening a new community was very exciting and satisfying for her.

On a day-to-day basis, Becky is responsible for assisting the community with business administration, human resources, and system-related business processes such as billing, accounts payable, lease renewals, collections of rent, and site financial reporting. She also provides direct supervision to the community’s concierge staff and on-site administrative support for the corporate finance and human resources departments. She finds great satisfaction in taking ownership of the financial responsibilities at Highview Hills. She sets goals and expects to attain them.

In her spare time you can find Becky spending time with her husband and three children.

Becky thoroughly enjoys our residents and helping them to live their lives to the fullest. She believes that they truly are the greatest generation.

Ryan Daniels

Director of Environmental Services

Ryan started working at Highview Hills in February of 2015. His career began in general maintenance, and he's worked his way up to his current position over the last 16 years. At his previous position, Ryan created and managed the maintenance department for another Twin Cities senior living community.

Ryan has a lot of respect and admiration for seniors and veterans; he believes they deserve a comfortable environment and retirement. His job involves many different projects – replacing windows, painting, and landscaping to name a few. Ryan takes pride in being able to repair everything. In fact, he’s known by friends and family as “the guy who can fix anything home or automotive.”

In his spare time, Ryan enjoys football, NASCAR, fishing, duck hunting, and spending time with friends and family. He's also a self-proclaimed gearhead, working to restore an old Chevy truck; after that, he plans on fixing up a muscle car.

Nick Charest

Fitness Specialist

After completing an internship with Walker Methodist in 2014, Nick joined our team as a Fitness Specialist at Highview Hills. Specializing in Personal Training at Saint Paul College and Exercise Science at Concordia University Saint Paul, Nick always knew he wanted to work in the healthcare industry. After spending time with the residents during his internship, Nick fell in love with their personalities and the wealth of knowledge they have to share.

Nick enjoys working directly with residents, improving their overall fitness, and making their lives better. In addition to conducting group fitness classes, he works one-on-one with residents, acting as their personal trainer. Nick keeps a favorite quote on his desk: “Success: achieved through effort, determination, and perseverance.” With this in mind, he strives to be a stand up individual who puts the needs of others first.

Outside of work, Nick enjoys sports. Most days you can find him on the golf course, playing baseball, or camping at various Minnesota state parks. He also supports Defending the Blue Line, an organization that helps ensure children of active military members have the opportunity to play youth hockey.

Tiffany Hoang

Resident Services Manager

Tiffany began her senior living career as an intern and has been progressively gaining responsibility. She holds a BS in Health Care Administration from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. Tiffany is responsible for advocating for residents, serves as the point-person for family members, leads Resident Family Meetings, meets the psycho-social needs of residents, and promotes integrative programs such as aromatherapy, Parkinson’s support, and the Memory Café. She especially enjoys working with residents with dementia. On her free time, Tiffany enjoys trying new restaurants, going on hikes, and spending time with her dog, Mia.

Wendy Mahal

RN, Director of Health Services

Wendy has worked at Highview Hills since 2012. She was recently promoted to Director. Wendy holds a RN BSN from Winona State University. She enjoys the constant challenge that being a nurse provides and is thrilled with the career opportunities provided by Walker Methodist and Leading Age.

As a campus leader, Wendy maintains the medical and service needs of our current residents through assessments, care planning, and communication with physician teams. She nourishes and mentors our staff to encourage personal and professional development for growth within themselves and the company. Wendy also communicates with families and residents regarding the quality of care and services provided. Senior living is Wendy's preferred professional setting because of the time it offers to establish close personal relationships with the people we serve, which makes the experience all the more meaningful.

Wendy and her husband Matt have a young daughter. They enjoy boating and going to Minnesota Wild hockey games. She wants to be remembered as a person who was willing to give all of herself to make a difference.

Elizabeth (Liz) Dahlen

Director of Sales & Marketing

Liz had many successful years in broadcast television management and then in Chamber of Commerce business development, but following a time of family crisis, she was determined to get into a field that would be a “work of heart.” Liz ultimately made the later in life career move to senior housing. She “learned the ropes” by opening a brand new community and found a real happiness working alongside seniors and their families as they transition to the next step in their life journey. With a passion for a high quality of service for seniors, she quickly realized that the best care is more consistently provided in a faith-based nonprofit organization. This change has taken her job satisfaction to a new level! Liz has been with Walker Methodist as the Shared Services Director of Sales since 2017. In this role, she supports all the Walker Methodist communities in their marketing and leasing efforts.

Liz started very young doing volunteer work and has consistently tried to be involved throughout the years. She started by regularly visiting a neighborhood nursing home when she was 12. As a teen, she started an active volunteer life in her church, and as an adult she served multiple board terms for organizations ranging from the Chamber of Commerce, United Way, American Heart Association, Exchange Club, Interfaith Hospitality Network, and several others. Today, Liz still volunteers at her church, providing music. She also is a community education speaker for the Alzheimer’s Association.
